About this countdown
This countdown timer lets you pick any future moment — a date, a time, or both — and watch the seconds tick away in real time. The display shows days plus hours, minutes, and seconds so you have a current picture whether you are counting down six months or six minutes. There are no ads and no account required.
The "Share link" button encodes your target into the page URL. Send that link to a friend, embed it in a calendar invite, or bookmark it — whoever opens it will see the same countdown already running.
Pick one of five finish sounds before starting. When the countdown reaches zero, the alert repeats until you stop it, reset the countdown, or the 3-minute safety stop kicks in.

- Can I share my countdown with others?
- Yes. Hit "Share link" and a URL with your target date encoded as a query parameter is copied to your clipboard. Anyone who opens that link will see the same countdown pre-filled and running automatically.
- Does the countdown keep running if I switch tabs or lock my screen?
- Yes. The countdown is computed from the real system clock against your chosen target date, so it shows the correct time remaining when the browser resumes. Keep the tab open for the finish sound and notification.
- Will it make a sound when it reaches zero?
- Yes. Choose one of five alert sounds before you start. When the countdown reaches zero, the selected sound repeats until you press Stop alert or Reset, and it stops automatically after 3 minutes.
