Which time zone does my event use?
Check the event time zone before sharing. It initially uses your browser’s time zone. Choose the event’s zone and review the city previews. If a clock change repeats an hour, choose the first or second occurrence; a time skipped by a clock change cannot be used.
Will everyone see the same deadline?
The link contains a fixed target instant, title and event settings. Other time zones can display different local times for that same instant. If the recipient already has a saved countdown, they must explicitly replace it with the linked event. Changing your event later does not update an old link or control another browser; send a new link.
How do calendar and embed options differ?
Calendar options create a separate event in your calendar; they do not keep it synchronised with later edits here. Check reminders in your calendar app. The embed displays the chosen target and title on a website. Neither option guarantees a browser alert after the page is closed or the device sleeps. Shared titles are visible to anyone with the link or embed, so avoid sensitive information.
Are custom countdowns public pages?
Custom countdowns use shareable URLs with query parameters. They are not a broad indexable page grid.
Can I embed the countdown on another website?
Yes. Copy the embed snippet or use the countdown widget page for documented options.
Can I add the countdown date to a calendar?
Yes. Download an ICS file after choosing a future date.
Does it need an account?
No. The countdown is built in your browser and can be shared as a link.

What the share link contains
Custom countdowns are built in the browser. The share URL stores the event title and target
date as query parameters, so another person can open the same countdown without an account or
database lookup. That is useful for private team links, but it also means you should not put
sensitive information in the title.
Event planning note
For a wedding date, RSVP list or reception checklist, free wedding planning tools fit better than a generic countdown; use Clockfresh when you need the live timer or embed.
